From March 19th till April 25th, 2015 in 100 places in Latvia a documentary “The Economics of Happiness” will be aired. The first screening will be held on March 21st at 3.00 pm at a movie theater “K-Suns”, afterwords it will start its tour with Kurzeme, then Zemgale, Latgale and Vidzeme and will end the with Riga’s suburbs.
Movie’s authors actualize the question of how to feel happy in a world that goes trough climate change, terrorism and financial crises, at the same time marking really personal stories about people, who feel depressed and suppressed by consumer population. The reason? A world created by global corporations, where in the first place is the profit and increase of consumption, not people. The authors do provide a solution – returning to society of communities, where people feel they belong to a place, know how they neighbors are and purchase food from the local farmers, not shopping malls .
We invite to watch the “The Economics of Happiness” the youth, representatives of NGO’s and municipalities, farmers as well as everyone who is interested and wants to know more about actuality in world and our influence on them.
Movie screenings are free of charge.
