Invitation to Event

16. April, 2024

Baltic Initiative on European Reform invites you to the upcoming Baltic Event on EU Enlargement ‘24, set to take on May 15, 2024, 9:30 at the Stockholm School of Economics, Riga, Strēlnieku iela 4A, Latvia.

How is the EU enlargement going to affect the Baltic countries, following integration of Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, and the Western Balkans? What opportunities it could bring for our common development and security?

Ukraine’s integration into the EU will be an economic challenge, yet it is going to strengthen us geopolitically. It will also provide a historical opportunity for the nations of the candidate states to build a democratic and prosperous future. To make it possible, we have homework to do.

Baltic Event on EU Enlargement ’24 will bring together civil society representatives from the Baltic countries and EU experts to discuss the EU enlargement and our contribution to three areas:

  • Democracy, rule of law, and human rights;
  • The economy;
  • Geopolitics.

By actively engaging in the enlargement process, civil society actors can contribute significantly to EU’s cohesiveness and strength. Representatives of the civil society will have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of EU enlargement, establish new contacts and synergies with like-minded experts, and voice their perspectives.

We highly value your contribution. Please join us on 15 May, at 9.30-17.00, at the Stockholm School of Economics, Strēlnieku iela 4A, Riga, Latvia.
