CIVICUS gathers global CSO activists in Riga

From April 22 to 26, 2024, representatives of the global alliance of civil society organizations CIVICUS visited Riga to plan and discuss the organization’s strengthening in the coming years. Latvia is represented in CIVICUS by the Latvian Platform for Development Cooperation (LAPAS) and the Latvian Civil Alliance (LPA), both organizations hosted the event in Riga.
During the event, CIVICUS representatives from several countries of the world visited Latvia, including South Africa, Republic of Togo, Republic of Congo, Zimbabwe, Fiji, Argentina, Mexico, Pakistan, Colombia, India, Brazil, Lithuania, Estonia, Denmark and other countries.
During the visit, civil activists from several countries also met with Latvian media representatives. You can read the interviews here (in Latvian):

CIVICUS was founded in 1993 with the aim of promoting the development and protection of civic activities worldwide. The organization has more than 15,000 members from 175 countries.
