18 new “LAPAS savieno” projects approved!
08. April, 2026
The fourth and the final project call “LAPAS savieno” has been completed. In the final round 43 NGO project applications were received, 18 were approved. The projects combine global citizenship education with practical action – from critical thinking and civic resilience to sustainability and cultural heritage.
The projects will take place in 15 municipalities and towns across Latvia – from Mērsrags and Sigulda to Subate and Krāslava – with a strong focus on hard-to-reach rural communities and the Latgale border region. Some projects will also include global partnerships with Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Target groups: youth (15–30), youth leaders, and less engaged groups such as rural residents, border communities, young mothers, representatives of Ukrainian, Jewish and Roma communities. Several projects also involve experts, educators and representatives from municipalities and public institutions, fostering cross-sector collaboration.
Planned activities include:
- seminars, workshops and training cycles on media literacy, human rights and sustainability,
- creative workshops and art projects,
- mobile craft workshops and textile cycling activities,
- youth leadership and mentoring programmes,
- camps and discussions,
- study visits and online cooperation with Global South partners,
- awareness campaigns and public events, including a science festival in Mērsrags.
Project implementation will take place from April 1 to December 31, 2026.
Thank you to all organisations for their applications! We continue working to turn your ideas into real change.
