18 new “LAPAS savieno” projects approved!

The fourth and the final project call “LAPAS savieno” has been completed. In the final round 43 NGO project applications were received, 18 were approved. The projects combine global citizenship education with practical action – from critical thinking and civic resilience to sustainability and cultural heritage.

LAPAS organises training on economic equality

As part of the “Gear Up!” project, on March 10 LAPAS is organizing training “Economic Equality - Gender Dimension in Employment” for project partners.

14 new “LAPAS savieno” projects approved!

The assessment of the third “LAPAS savieno” project call is complete. In this round 34 project applications were submitted by NGOs, 14 projects were approved, ranging from youth-led initiatives to community-based projects across Latvia. All selected projects share a common goal: to strengthen critical understanding of global challenges and turn it into meaningful local action.

LAPAS invites to international workshop on resilience

The Latvian Platform for Development Cooperation on the 25th of February, 2026 is organizing the international workshop “Code of Resilience: from Local Security to International Solidarity” to gather proposals for systemic improvements at the European Union and global level. Currently, the new EU Multiannual Budget is being developed, various support mechanisms for Ukraine are being designed, as well as the resilience strategy of the European Union itself.

The international conference will mark the 25th anniversary of Latvia's development cooperation

On October 3, 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, in collaboration with the Latvian Platform for Development Cooperation (LAPAS), organized an international conference dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Latvia’s development cooperation. The conference aims to provide an overview of Latvia’s achievements over the past 25 years, highlighting best practices and their impact, and to initiate a discussion on current development cooperation priorities within Latvia’s foreign policy. CIVICUS gathers global CSO activists in Riga

From April 22 to 26, 2024, representatives of the global alliance of civil society organizations CIVICUS visited Riga to plan and discuss the organization’s strengthening in the coming years. Latvia is represented in CIVICUS by the Latvian Platform for Development Cooperation (LAPAS) and the Latvian Civil Alliance (LPA), both organizations hosted the event in Riga.
